- WELCOME TO THE 'AMERICAN IDENTITY' PAGE FOR 8TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES!
- This course explores what it means to be “American.” Examining local and global perspectives through a variety of disciplinary frameworks, this course focuses on the many diverse forms of “American Identity,” as well as the social and cultural histories that have shaped these identities. Students will gain knowledge and skills related to intercultural relations and implement various methods including reading, writing, performance, and the arts to examine their own and others’ identities.
For successful completion of this course, students will show mastery on assessments for the following areas of study:
