WELCOME TO THE 'Regions & people' PAGE for 7th grade social studies!
'Regions and People' in 7th grade introduces students to the physical and
human geography of the world. Using a geographic lens to explore global
phenomena provides a means for students to compare how humans in different
places address similar issues. Traditional human concerns about economic,
political, social, and environmental issues across the globe will be studied,
along with elements of culture from different areas of the world. This
course is designed to challenge students to think globally while exploring global
or cross-regional patterns and interactions. Students will learn to see
themselves as part of the world—not the center of it
For successful completion of this course, students will show mastery on assessments relating to geographic vocabulary, maps, location, and culture for the following areas of study:
Unit 1: Foundations of World Geography
Unit 2: The World in Spatial Terms
Unit 3: Population and Migration
Unit 4: Culture
Unit 5: Human/Environment Interaction
Unit 6: World Trade
Unit 7: Globalization
